The Key to Happyness starts with Self Love and there are Three Steps to Accessing Your Inner Happyness Now:

  1. Whatever You Focus On Grows.  This is a proven fact because as you focus on one thing, your energy wants to expand and so the thing grows.  Be it your bank account or creativity, if you focus on one thing, you are in fact giving it your attention and that leads to your ever expanding energy.
    1. The Key is to Focus on all the things that you truly love!  Focus on the things that you are excited about, people that make you feel good, jobs that bring together teams that feel like magic, or the one FB post that makes you smile.  Picking and choosing means you have to discern between what you really want to bring forth your inner happyness.  This includes news stories and other peoples opinions.  You have always had the choice to choose happyness every moment.
      1. For me, I choose to focus on great things all the time.  I even use my favorite silverware from France, and favorite tea cup from Japan almost every day and I even took them with me on my 8month roadtrip last year that included to Burning Man.  We all came home safe and sound, but I wanted to take some items on my trip since I would be waking up at so many places, but would always be reminded and sometimes even comforted by my favorite items. The same holds true for everything else I choose to have around me.
  2. The Universe Always Provides.  While experiencing my first Burning Man, this was the common mantra and it was true because there were 80K people who consciously chose to be in the desert living a life of non-judgment and offering love in the form of food, or classes or hugs, etc.  The same holds true for life outside of the Burn when you truly need something and can’t get out of your way.  Each one of us affects our surroundings and the Universe always provides us with what we need at that given moment, even if you didn’t think you wanted the thing or set of circumstances that shows up!
    1. The clearer you are about following your heart and living your own dream, the easier it is for the Universe to show up and give you exactly what you ordered.  It’s when you aren’t sure of what it is you truly want that you get conflicting responses and even, sometimes, fired!
      1. For me, I kept saying that I was going to Burning Man, but on my road trip I had no idea how to get there or where to get a ticket.  I reached out to a friend for help and it was at the tail end of our conversation that she offered to get a ticket for me, and the rest is history.  I found a ride to the burn, and even a camp to join and within weeks I was there loving every minute of it.  I had to witness a community without judgement and love offerings that had nothing to do with bartering.  It was pure love. I’d secretly be wishing for ice cream and then someone would come up and say, Do you want some Ice Cream and hand us all our own bowl.  My personal mantra before I went to Burning Man was, “Everyday is Christmas” because I am constantly surprised and elated over moments during my day with pure joy.  Christmas doesn’t come once a year, it’s every single day.
  3. Self Love Starts With You.  You are enough.  Even if you have a large family, or an only child, or have children yourself, or are a caretaker for someone sick, you must take care of you first.  This is no one else’s responsibility but your own. You must do your own work, even if you hire a coach.  You can’t take care of anyone else until you show up first and foremost for yourself.  If you don’t, you will start to repel people, places, synchronistic situations and even love because the universe is is always providing or giving you another situation in which to learn from.
    1. Stop rehashing the past, leave it where it belongs and decide to start anew now.  It’s as easy as that because your mind will do whatever you tell it to.  But first, you have to focus on the deep inner thoughts coming from your gut or intuition.  Stop yelling over all the noise going on inside, wondering why it’s not working.  Breathe, meditate, take a break and step into nature, our ultimate teacher.  Remember, when in a situation where you need oxygen, you must first put on your own mask first before you can start helping anyone else.
      1. For me, fresh out of an international divorce, France gave me three months to find a job or get the hell out of their country, so I ended up back in Houston and in my parents’ guest room right before my birthday.  I hated everyone and everything until I was diagnosed with breast cancer and that’s when I chose life for my self.  Cancer actually saved my life.  At that moment I didn’t care about anyone or anything but doing what I needed to do to finish treatment, and here I am today.  Happyer than ever!

Panchakarma: Year 2, Day 2 Complete

Since everyone keeps asking me about Panchakarma, I figured I’d share with you the general guidelines and why I am participating in it for my second year in a row.  For one thing, my body just loves it.  Seriously, I already have more energy, my skin looks great, and I am much more focused on my work.  Basically, I eat the same thing which is completely neutral to my body for thirty-five days, eating around the same time three times a day, without any snacking so that my body can do what it does best and heal itself!

This is what I am doing for 35 days:

  • Sprouting moon-g beans twice a week over night in a glass pitcher with clean water so that the next day I can make a fresh batch of kitcheri in a large crock pot, which I will then eat for the next few days.
    • There is a local Indian grocer where I purchased everything I needed and it was fun!
  • Roasting organic vegetables including sweet potatoes, beets and carrots in a glass pan in the oven to add to the kitcheri every day.
  • Getting up at 8am every day
    • Since I’ve returned to Houston, I’ve been getting up at all sorts of times!
  • Eating three times a day around the same time (8:30am, 12:30 and 5:30pm) with a big glass of warm uncaffeinated tea.
    • I usually eat throughout the day and rarely eat the same thing twice.
    • Which means, I am taking a glass storage dish with me to visit friends during lunch so that I can continue eating with them and being social, but staying on the program.
  • Taking care of myself.
    • Now it’s a priority every day to cook, take walks with my dogs, and even baths before going to bed.
    • I also use different oils on my skin and hair to moisturize myself since I am a Pitta Vata and coming from Colorado I was so dry and chapped that it feels great.
  • Putting myself to bed early.
    • The first night I took a bath at 7pm and fell asleep before 9pm with the lights on!  I woke up the next morning feeling completely rested and ready for an amazing day!
  • Listening to my intuition and being mindful of all of my time.
    • Rather than stressing about this or that not going the way I had planned. It’s Pure Genius.
  • Taking it one day at a time.
    • Not stressing about the length of time, because it will go by quickly.
    • Also because I’ve seen the progressive list of organs the body will cleanse as I keep up the program successfully.  I am committed to the program and love stuff like this because it takes a lot to finish.  Most people will never even try this! Would you?  I’m a purist and it worked so well for me last year that I am continuing.  And the program runs three years in a row or three sets of 35 days (5 weeks) consecutively in a row.

This is what I am NOT doing for 35 days:

  • Abstaining from using a Microwave
    • Microwaves kill all the good nutrients in your food.  Put a plant by a microwave and it will die.  But in this day in age we like everything fast!  But for now, I am not using a microwave.  I am using a tea kettle to heat water for tea and a cast iron pan to heat the kitcheri.
  • Not taking any of my usual supplements or medications (which I don’t have anyway)
    • I typically take supplements like calcium, fish oils, probiotics, Barlean’s Greens, you name it, but for now, I am not taking anything so that I can cleanse my body.
  • Abstaining from eating out, snacking and eating anything in between meals.
    • It was hard just last night when I felt so hungry before bed, but I had a big glass of tea and reminded myself that I lost 17 pounds last year when I did this and when I looked back at my journal, I was back to my original weight.  This year I plan to keep it off and keep losing weight so that I can return to my pre-cancer and post-divorce weight which I truly miss.
  • Rushing around doing last minute things and jetting into town!
    • That is my usual mode and now I wake up and listen to my intuition so that I can stay authentic and continue doing things with complete focus.

HappYness Trifecta Healing Classes

Starting this month, as my intention is to share, teach and train as many as possible, I am thrilled to open my doors at Casa Castillo located in Cypress, TX for a monthly HappYness Trifecta Healing Class.  The Trifecta is the three part process I use to support your own growth and exponential healing for your journey.  It will go like this while you move through different states of energetic healing on your own:

  1. First we will introduce ourselves and discuss how our day is going and why we are there, to establish a common theme for the class. Then, I will train and explain how to use meridian tapping and why it works.  We will then working together, go through a group tapping class  to help uncover and find those limiting beliefs that have kept you feeling stuck or stagnant.
  2. Then, I will introduce Theta healing, explaining the principles of the energy work, and more importantly the why behind the process so that you can start to realize the benefits as we continue through a Theta healing process together.
  3. Finally, we will move into a Reiki process of group healing through which we will all be clearing out old energies and activating new paradigms needed for your own group conscious healing in class.

When you leave, you will be feel either completely relaxed or energized.  Everyone is different, but no matter what you will be more prepared to get a great nights sleep so that you’re body can continue working it’s way through to great access it’s own healing so that when you wake up, you will feel refreshed and ready to see the world with amazing glasses!

Classes will start Thursday, January 26th at 7pm in Cole’s Crossing.  Please contact me to confirm your seat, since seating is limited.  You will also receive the address and more details about the class.  The class is scheduled for the fourth Thursdays of each month in the evenings and a new class will start during the month on the second Wednesdays at 2pm.  I’m looking forward to meeting you all and sharing the evidence-based healing tools that I’ve used for years turning a Hot Mess into HappYness.
